Hello, you have enabled me to play ride on and my next mission is the song Black is the color could you tell me what is the finger pattern to black is the colour if possible
Thanks a million
Dave
Hello Dave! That’s absolutely fabulous news you can play ride on. For Black is The Colour Christy Moore plays it different nearly every time. It really is more about the timing which is the most important aspect of the song.
The finger Pattern I use as is follows:
It starts off with the chord A minor (Before Lyrics start, remember capo 1)
Pattern : (A string )Thumb (G string ) 2nd finger (D string ) 1st Finger.
(A string ) thumb ( B string ) 2nd finger, ( G string ) 2nd Finger
( D string ) 1st Finger (A string ) Thumb.
The finger pattern for the rest of the chords are a similar variation if not the same. Remember don’t worry about accuracy focus on clean chords and timing.
Hope this helps.
